I see that even though people are more direct, they still tend to be dishonest to people. Also, I think there is more and more a double standard in the judicial process, social circles, and what we believe ourselves should get by with and other people should get by with. Agree or disagree?

I have a different thought on the increase of hypocrisy.....
!!Television!! and even more directly...... advertisement. I challenge everyone who reads this answer to watch one hour of commercial television and not come away with at least a dozen references to why you can't be yourself but must "fit in" or "conform" , either the F'ing jeans or "hoodies" that OLD NAVY is selling, or you HAVE to have an IPOD or some crappy cell phone that can prove the existence of GOD but still sounds like a bag phone from the 80's or even look like a homeless person to fit in as in the show "O.C." The message is "you aren't good enough as you are" therefore everyone is suppressing their true natures to fit in, and well as Madison AVE changes who we are "supposed to be" every time the bottom line sags...well a good portion of our society is phony..

Hypocrite. Say not to and do it yourself. Why its accepted, people are more open minded and dont care about it as much. Agree with the double standards, theyre definitely out there.

I think we all know what a hypocrite is. My version is someone that's pretends to be something that he is not. the worst ones are the ones that go to church and pretend to be good Christians then go act like the rear of a horse to their friends and relatives. Once you start to break down the character at that level then its all down hill in everything we do. I see this every day in all professions .

Hypocrisy has become accepted because no one knows what the truth looks like any more.
