I dont want them to breed though, so should they be 2 of the same sex? If yes, should they be 2 girls or 2 boys?

No. No fish can live in a bowl. The design allows too small of a surface area for oxygen exchange and too small of a volume for any fish. Another downside is the limited ability to use a necessary filter and heater.

No. The molly needs to be in heated tank with aquarium salt and proper filtration. There is no fish in the world that will be happy in a glass bowl. Even bettas require a tropical environment. It's a horrible misconception that a fish can live is a glass bowl.

Nope they need to have an aquarium with adequate heating and filtration. Minimum tank size should be 10 gal and you should add some aquarium salt to the water. If you don't want them to breed then get all females. This might be the first time I am disagreeing with MM. Don't get all males. What happens is you get one which is dominant and the others suffer because the dominant male will constantly chase them with no females to take it's attention. I did it my first time, I had three males and the two non dominant males ended up dying.

As long as the bowl is big enough for them (as in huge) and they enough space to swim around happily, and the bowl has a filter and everything, in other words, a large aquarium which is round. 2 girls is better.

No! Mollies are actie swimmers and the confines of a bowl without a filter or heater would kill them, especially if there was no oxygenating in the water.

No, do not try to keep mollies in a bowl, they will not survive there for long at all. Mollies need a 10 gallon tank to be comfortable and healthy.

If you want to keep mollies and not have babies, the best thing to do is buy all males.
