So many people think that a natural penis is dirty. I wash mine every day and have never had a problem with it smelling and have taught my son to clean his as well.

Someone said "there is a warm place for bacteria to grow in there. "
Ignore that rubbish about keeping it clean. That propaganda exists only in the United States. Are you aware that the majority of Europe is NOT circumcised? Do you ever hear about mass numbers of European men unable to keep their penis' clean and getting infections?
What about the folds of the labia in a child? It's more difficult to clean the folds of the labia. Is it difficult to keep the labia clean?
It is NOT difficult to clean a penis which has not been mutilated.

Anyway, some information about circumcision.
No medical institution in the world actually recommends the practice.
Let's have a look at medical associations in the developed world. The British Medical Association, Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Canadian Paediatric Society, American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Australian College of Paediatrics and Australasian Association of Paediatric Surgeons. Every one of them recommends AGAINST performing the procedure. Their positions on the procedure can be found here: http://www.circumcision.org/position.htm

Here is a video of the operation. Watch it if you want to learn more. Please do watch it.

It is not just a little snip here and there. Watch the above video of a circumcision in progress.

The foreskin keeps the glans soft and moist and protects it from trauma and injury. Without this protection, the glans becomes dry, calloused, and desensitized from exposure and chafing.
Specialized nerve endings in the foreskin enhance sexual pleasure.
The foreskin may have functions not yet recognized or understood.

"Circumcision removes the most sensitive parts of the penis and decreases the fine-touch pressure sensitivity of glans penis. The most sensitive regions in the uncircumcised penis are those parts ablated by circumcision. When compared to the most sensitive area of the circumcised penis, several locations on the uncircumcised penis that are missing from the circumcised penis were significantly more sensitive." Circumcision removes as much as 75% of sensation [ http://www.nocirc.org/touch-test/bju_6685.pdf ].

The foreskin reduces the force required by the penis to enter the vagina. It also increases the sexual enjoyment of the female partner. Here is a study to back this up: http://www.cirp.org/library/anatomy/ohara/

Performing circumcision on a child can and does result in the deaths of children due to blood loss and/or failure of the immune system.

Approximately 230 American males die every year because of circumcision. [ http://www.sexuallymutilatedchild.org/deathsdo.htm , http://www.cirp.org/library/death/ ] This is a meaningless and very sad loss of life.

It can and does result in very significant scaring.
It can and does result in sexual problems later in life.

Circumcised males have a much higher rate of sexual dysfunction and premature ejaculation. [ http://www.cirp.org/library/sex_function/ ]

I am a woman, but I know it isn't harder to keep clean, because my boyfriend is not circumcised. All you need to do is wash it. It seriously takes 10 seconds to clean. Plus, the foreskin is there naturally and is self-cleaning, just like a woman's vagina. I think some girls think they are dirty because they 'smell' but that is it. My boyfriend's penis has scent, like my vagina has a scent. It doesn't smell bad or anything. And then there are also the people who say they have a lower chance of getting STDs. It's like, hello? Use a condom! Or don't sleep around. I know my boyfriend doesn't have to worry about STDs because the only girl he has had sex with is me. Anyway, he has never had any infections, most people mention UTI's, even I have had a couple UTI's, but my boyfriend has never had one. But I think what annoys more than women saying a circumcised penis is cleaner, is saying an uncircumcised, natural penis, is 'gross'.

No, circumcised men do wash, but the belief is that it's easier to clean and stay clean.

Being uncircumcised myself, I've never had any problems cleaning my foreskin nor keeping it clean, and I've never had any problems associated with it. Really, hygiene of the foreskin is very very simple and is almost second nature if you know what to do. So I never really understood the stigma because it doesn't make much sense to me.

If one thinks about it, yeah the foreskin might harbor some bacteria, but the mouth is home to a lot more. So in that sense, the mouth is a lot "dirtier" than the penis. And who's to say that some of these bacteria aren't beneficial?

In the end, that the uncircumcised penis is "dirtier" is basically a myth that needs to be dispelled.

I am married to an intact man. I have never seen, smelled, tasted or felt any smegma on him. The "hygiene" myth is just a way to rationalize the irrational anti-sex practice of male genital mutilation.

I agree that it is not dirty. Provided it is well-cleaned every day, which I'm sure most uncircumsied men do, there is no reason why it would be dirty...it's just people being brainwashed into thinking that for no good reason...it's just their weird opinion, not fact.

No it does not mean that circumcised me don't wash....

It just means that those who think that are uneducated. My daughter chose not to circumcise either of her boys.

Not really, no. Those people are just assumptious...

BUT... I'm sure there are men (cut and uncut alike) that don't wash as well as they should.

It is not so much as a washing thing. When there is a foreskin or partial foreskin, there is a warm place for bacteria to grow in there.

All men wash (circumsized and natural). However, do you wash your penis after urinating every time? Circumsized men can shake and wipe.

As long as you are okay with your privates, don't worry about anyone else!
