OK I don't know what this is but someone asked me one time if I have dyslexia. Well I don't think I do I love reading and I get it right everytime I don't have problems with that but sometimes more then not I turnaround what someone says and take it different from how it was said like i confuse the question or I will take it literally.

Example: Today at work a lady wanted the milk 2 in a bag she had a bunch well what do I do I only put 2 cartons in a bag its like I misunderstand people hear understand it differently from how it is said and asked. Please only serious answer's because I'm serious this happens alot.

It doesn't appear that you are dealing with dyslexia issues... you say so yourself that your reading is fine.

Communication between two humans is an amazing feat really, it's a wonder we actually understand anything we hear at all. Each person's brain processes the stimuli entering their brains differently, sometimes just a little, sometimes a lot. Not only that, the processes that produce outgoing results (speech, actions, etc.) are not the same for each person, which means the lady you were dealing with may have expressed herself in a way that was not understandable to anyone but her.

The "solution" is to stay present in the now, pay attention to what is going on around you, and if you think you've misunderstood something, repeat it back in a non-judgemental way. For instance... "Did I hear you saying you want 2 milk cartons per bag?"

None of us are perfect, we are only required to do our best. As long as you know you've put the effort forth to do what is being asked of you, you're going to do fine. ;)

It may be that you have mental distractions and have a hard time attending to what people want in the sense that you cannot take their perspective. This usually happens when a person is too lost in thought in their own head such that things that happen in the external world gets jumbled with what they are thinking about. You have to practice focusing on what is happening around you rather than about other things.

well as rude as this may be, i don't think you have any kind of disorder, it's probably just the way you are. just like today, my friend told me gullible wasn't in the dictionary. obviously it is but i believed her and my friends tease me a lot because I'm pretty gullible. About someone telling you that you have dyslexia, they were probably kidding and just the fact that you believed that may be another reason for them to tease you.

But if I'm right, don't take them teasing you seriously.
when somone feels comfortable about teasing you, it probably means they feel close to you to know you wont be offended.

I think, you just think with a different mindset! thats all. So do i. with tests in school i see the question asking something no one else sees, and totally screw myself over all the time. Maybe just a communication problem, but i dont think its a disorder or anything, and definitely you aren't slow because of this!
