Happyone had some good things to consider. On top of those also include renters insurance, condo or maintenance fees. It is sometimes easy to see how the paper budget works and you should be able to make it, but all of these little nickle and dime items do add up, and in a hurry.pp

It depends on the apartment. When you look at one, ask the landlord. It has to be included in the lease, stating who (you or the landlord) has to pay what. Find out the heat source (gas or electric) and if you have to pay it. Sometimes all utilities are included, but the rent will be higher. Cable, phone and Internet are not generally included, but I have seen it before. Trash, water/sewer, and lawn care usually is. There can also be deposits when starting up service, so you should put some money aside for it, just in case, and call the utility company you would have to deal with to find out of there is one and how much you need. I have also encountered parents who have used their kids social security number for getting utilities, and when the kids move out and try to get utilities, they can't because there's a back balance. BTW, that's identity theft, but who prosecutes their parents?

gas, electric, water & sewer, cable, phone, groceries, necessities. I included the last 2 because many young people forget to include these in their budget.
