Last week I was dialated at 1... cervix was soft, they could feel her head, and my water was buldging and my midwife swept my membrains. Today I went in and it was the same thing, I didnt progress anymore than last week, but they stripped me again. Now I am having really bad menstrual cramps, and sometimes I have tightning.... but it is NOT regular....I just hurt a lot down there... do you think it is from the stripping, or am I in labor? What can I do to turn them into real contractions? Thank you!!

Try curb walking to help bring on labor.
It may sounds funny, but some really believe it helps. Walk along a curb, one leg up on the curb and one in the gutter, then turn around and go the other way.

This is another really fun way to try and start labor.
Go to a local park or playground and swing on those nice big swings. It may or may not work, but, it is good fun!

Remember, after 40 long weeks you are almost on your way to delivery. Take some time to enjoy your last few days as a pregnant woman. If you can, take some time to sleep. You certainly won't be getting much sleep after your newborn baby arrives!

If at any time you are concerned about your baby's welfare, or feel that something may be wrong, no matter how vague the feeling is, call, talk and get medical advice from your care provider, physician, doctor or health care professional.

Keep in mind that it won't be much longer now.
Your baby will be born when it is ready.
Good luck

The baby will come when she is ready. In the mean time you can try to help it along by taking walks or you can rest up while you can. I had very irregular contractions for more than sixteen hours until the doctor was worried about how long things were taking and they broke my water for me. After that I started having regular contractions and everything went smoothly. When my daughter was born she had a tiny scratch on her head from when they broke my water. It wasn't a problem or anything. It made me feel more connected to her.

I would say take a walk. Keep a close eye on how often the contractions are coming. When they get to 5 mins apart and regular, call you midwife. And kudos to you for having a midwife!! I had one for all 3 of my boys.

Sex, get on your hands and knees and scrub a floor or bathroom, have a really spicy snack.

You are having signs of early labor and it can take up to 24 hours to progress to active. It will happen when you and your baby are ready.

Good luck!

It sounds like your real close to going into labor. I would try somethings to help it along...sex, walking, or even a warm bath. Good luck!

i mean really, these two girls are giving you the WRONG advice. don't have sex/ take a bath if they've stripped your membranes...but you may already know this.
i'd squat a lot. walk around a bit. do some duck walks. bounce on a work out ball. oh, good luck to you.
