Check your lease. If you caused it, then your landlord doesn't have to do a thing. Do you have copies of the letters you sent? Because if the landlord is supposed to take care of it, you can refuse to pay rent until it's taken care of, but if you're taken to court, you need to prove you had contacted the landlord and given them reasonable time to deal with the situation. You can also pay someone to check it out and determine how bad it is and withhold the cost from your rent, but you'll need to document that you notified the landlord of it and that you gave them time to respond. You can also contact a Fair Housing office to find out what the laws are in your area. Unless it's really bad, you're best bet is to just move when your lease is up.

I can't give you an answer with just the little bit of information that you have provided. The answer depends on the lease agreement you have, the type of mold that it is and where it probably started. Along with those items you may have state or local regulations that cover the situation. It is quite possible that it is your responsibility.
He should respond to your notices and tell you what is going on.pp

Generally no, basic house cleaning is not the landlords responsibility. Clean your shower and vent the room and you won't have any trouble. A mild bleach solution kills molds and mildew (what you have is mildew due to poor housekeeping).

It depends on where it is.
