Yes I am free in the areas that really count and it has nothing to do with money or social status. We enjoy more freedom in America than most other countries.

I'm definitely closer to the base of the pyramid than the tip, and, you only really notice a lack of freedom of action when you attempt the right (or wrong) actions. I don't much notice how restrited I am from driving at high speeds for instance, because I don't really want to do it - others really chafe at speed limits as an abridgement of thier freedoms. That's a trivial example, but I think the basic idea holds.
OTOH, if you're talking freedom of thought or of choice - 'Free Will' - then, yes, we're quite free - though we may not like the consequences of exercising certain of those freedoms...

I'm free for the most part. I get to choose where I want to work, what skills I want to learn in regard to higher education, what I want to eat, where I want to live etc but it all depends on what i can do to achieve what i want. I may not be able to afford the car I want, but that has nothing to do with how free i am. I am free to buy the car...but the car is not for free.
Where I am not free is the restrictions the government imposes on me. Forcing me to abide by renting laws, labor laws, safety laws, drug laws, smoking laws, gamblng laws, etc. I'm not saying I would violate them even if they didn't exist, but my choice has already been made for me by the government. It has nothing to do with a pyramid.

yes because we are more free then alot of other countries and have more. no because the government is trying to screw us over and we must do what we can. all the workers in gorvernemt jobs heres somthing I larnd from my dad the only way to get somthing right is to boycot it or do what they want to the point of overload and then go in there face and say"look at how bad and unproductive you are!" no because we don't elect a presadent but the eletoril collage (government people). and no because look at what Bush has done! there was only one thing he did right but he over did it with wroung.

No. I do not believe that I am free. Although I live in the USA which promotes freedom I still remain a slave to many things.
Slavery in this sense is not always bad. We trade freedom for comfort in many cases. Many of us are slaves to debt, technology, alcohol or any other myriad of things.
I believe freedom is relative. And for what it is worth, I believe that I am freer than the average person, for which I am thankful for.

Yes.
Within the constraints of living in a civilized society, I don't think there could be any more freedom.

Freedom isn't having more privileges than other people. Freedom is knowing how to take them when I want them, despite what I'm told. Yes, I'm free.

Even India did away with the caste system - well kind of. Of course you're free, the gov't is just protecting you from the wackos out there that are bigger and badder than you.
