All Laker fans talk about is getting Kobe some help when he has a decent supporting cast. Odom, Walton, Bynum, and the rest of that team is decent.

Players like T-Mac, Ray Allen and a few other superstars roll with the hand they are dealt with and never whine and threaten to leave the team. And they were and are on some bad teams.
( Yes, I'm aware T-Mac has Yao but that's it. Before that he had nothing and never complained. They need key players to.)

What makes Kobe so damn special that he can go on a rant like this? What if every top star decided to do this?

The Lakers must not give in to Kobe. Let his rotten spoiled azz sit the season out. If they give in, this opens the door to more top players pulling the same stunt down the road.

You're absolutely right. Kobe is selfish and doesn't care about his team. Someone needs to remind him that he hasn't won anything since he had Shaq sent to Miami. Likewise, you have to give guys like McGrady and Allen credit for being team-oriented guys who don't complain about their circumstances.

Kobe is a very weird person, and has always been.

I agree that he is one of the most eccentric players in the game. I can't find the video of him, but I've seen many websites that say the video exists. Can someone find a link to that video?

Ok, back to Kobe. I think that there are multiple reasons why this whole thing has blown over.

1). Kobe has always been one of the league's most controversial player. When he came into the league, he was the perfect little angel. And it's part of human nature not to want to be around someone who's too perfect. So a lot of people had a field day when Kobe argued with Shaq and had the scandal in Colorado.

Although Kobe has come quite a long way in the last couple years, it's a little too late. He left a bad impression on people already, and once people have an image of you in their minds, it's hard to change it. It's part of human nature; you want to hold onto familiarity.

2). Bad temper is apparently in his character. Yes, Kobe is a very impatient person. That's simply what happens when someone is far transcendental in many ways to the people around him/her. The don't tolerate the imperfections of anyone. Kobe must recognize the fact that not everyone has his talent/work ethic/killer instinct. Kobe must learn to be more patient with people.

3). Kobe's character is so unique and paradoxical, not many people understand him. He is just a bundle of so many extremes, he seems more like a book character. He is cocky but insecure, bad tempered but sweet, generous with his time and money but extremely stingy with his patience, always angry and brooding yet he loves kids. He's also pretty nerdy and antisocial for a professional athlete. At times it seems like everything Kobe does has a cynical, bitter edge to it. Kobe is the definition of duality. I completely agree with you on that. KOBE IS A WEIRD PERSON!!!!

4). This is just a theory, but maybe Kobe is bipolar. He certainly has been acting like it in the last few weeks, and all the contradicting aspects of his personality further advocate that theory. Being antisocial is another part of bipolar people. The more I think about it, the more I suspect that Kobe Bryant is bipolar

If I am right, then I have the answer to any question that anyone will ever have about him.

KOBE BRYANT IS BIPOLAR???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're absolutely right. Kobe is simply the most selfish, egotistic player in the NBA. He's nearing 30 but he's far from being mature. It's but natural for a superstar to ask management for quality teammates, but to demand to be traded is purely unprofessional. MJ was often skeptical of Jerry Krause's picks and acquisitions with the Bulls and would always criticize management especially if they didn't turn out right but he just rolled with it, and never once did he ask to be traded, particularly in his team's first few lackluster years. You're right about T-Mac and Allen, to think that these guys have yet to win a title. Kobe has won 3 and yet he's acting like this. Perhaps, he's dying to equal MJ's 6...or maybe Robert Horry's 7.

T-Mac, Ray Allen and others have not won a championship nor competed for one. Kobe is a winner. He's used to winning. The team he has with him is not built to win. He wants a team that can compete night in and night out.

Kobe wants to make history and expand his greatness. And that requires a ring and a Finals MVP. He wants to win. "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing" ~ Vince Lombardi. Ray Allen and T-Mac had nice salaries. But Kobe Bryant wants to be a legend, and legends all have rings.

I agree, pretty self centered. Kobe certainly has a lot of talent. After his Colorado PR nightmare, he worked a long time to build his reputation. I don't think you have much to worry about as far as a trade.

Few teams have salary cap room to accommodate him.

Your right....shut up and play, Kobe!

Beginning of the season, I hated/disrespected Kobe cuz of the previous season playoffs (when Raja Bell threw him on the ground) but after all this trade thing, I , once again, have lost respect for KB24
