May I ask your age? And how long you been watching?
The reason I ask is because I noticed on one question they said they didn't like the new background music and that there is not enough youngster's watching for that music. So I wanted to see if it's true because I liked the music and have been the last couple of days.
By the way I'm 22 years old and have been watching Young and the restless off and on since I was 8 or 9 years old, use to watch with my great grandma. (Been watching nonstop for the last 3 years)

I swear we could be twins,lol, but I am 23, and have been watching with my "nana"{r.i.p} {g.grandma} since I was about 8 too!
I love this show and can remember way back when,lol...
I still watch daily, I did go through a short period when I didn't get to see it b/c of school and what not....

I am 28 and have been watching the show constantly since high school. Thank goodness for VCR's! :-) I do like the new music that they're experimenting with, but I like the old too. LOL I too used to watch this show with my great grandma, we used to talk about "the moustache" and such all the time when we got together. I still remember when Phyllis first came to town, how much I hated her then, and how much I have grown to love her... lol anyways the new music is great. I wouldnt be opposed to change if it was permanent.

I'm 30 and I started to watch young and the restless when I was twelve I got sucked in about the time that shelia had lauren and her own mother tied up in the basement this is one soap that will always be simply the best

I'm going on 34 and have been watching every since I can remember so that has to be since I was at least two. I was even named after someone on As the world turns. I'm talkin old school! I remember when Kay Chancellor had her facelift in real life and they wrote it in the script. I also remember when Nikki was a stripper as well as the original Jill who was a manicurist. My mother and grandmother used to always have me sitting with them when they'd watch their "stories". I used to record everyday to vcr prior to dvr's being born. I have a whole box of tapes. My daughter just watched the one when Sharon found out that Cassie was her daughter. Yeah I had to hook up one of the old vcr's for that one. Ha!

I'm 41 and have been watching it ever since the day Patti Williams was getting ready to marry Jack. It's been my show for about 27 years.
BTW, I love the music that they have been playing in the background lately -- cool and appropriate.

i'm 42 and i remember when there were the Prentisses and the Brooks familys. and the Fosters were the less fortunate family. i also remember Paul Williams giving Nikki a venereal disease and Victor locking his first wifes boyfriend in the basement. and the mother of the Prentisses wore veils to hide her face.i never listened that much to the background music as long as Nadia's Theme opened the show.

i am 36 and have been watching y&r on and off for about 30 of those years...i remember watching it in the 70's at the babysitter's when Katherine Chancelor was freaking out about her wrinkles and wore this really weird veil...it was riveting! the music was much more intense back then...it has mellowed out in the years and i think it is now where it needs to be, in the background, not disturbing the story line but adding to it....

I just turned 19 today :) and have been watching since about the time I was 5. It's been an on and off thing for years but my mom got me into it and we like watching it together. We're so glad we have soapnet now so she doesn't have to tape it :)
