I got a 6000 btu A/C and the front air condensor is icing up on the sides and then eventually the front what would cause this because it worked perfect when it was in the other room??

If the unit worked in the other room, the coils may be dirty, cutting down air flow. Can you pull the unit out of the window and take it outside, then gently hose off the indoor and outdoor coils?
If you can't pull the unit, take a soft brush and brush the coils as best you can, then rinse off with water from a spray bottle.
If this doesn't clear up your icing problem, try a warmer setting on the thermostat.
If it still ices up, the unit is low on refrigerant, and you'll have to recycle the unit and get another.

I bet the thermostat is not cutting off. test it
get a cup of ice water and plunge the thermostat probe down in the ice water, after a few moments the a/c compressor should shut down, If it dont then it is stuck and that will cause a ice buildup at night when the temperature drops early in the morning, also a dirty evaporator coils and filter will cause it too and sometimes when the thermostat is turned up too high in spring and late fall it will do it too. this is mid summer...bad thermostat,I bet.
