Here in San Diego, we have Balboa Park which is often described as "the nation's largest urban cultural park." Of the 15 major museums, by personal favorite is the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center. Other favorites include the San Diego Air & Space Museum and the San Diego Model Railroad Museum.
Beginning later this month, the San Diego Natural History Museum will be hosting an exhibition of the Dead Sea Scrolls through the end of the year. I intend to see that exhibit soon.
Many of the museums in Balboa Park over free admission once on a month on Tuesdays, so I can experience all of them as often as I want.

Honestly, I love any type of museum, mostly history museums. I'm a big fan of the Seattle Art Museum as well.
