Can you get pregnant immediately after having a baby the week before?

Question

I have a friend who we thought was pregnant. She says she had the baby (this was over a month ago) but the baby died because of bad lungs. The baby was full term and in the pictures she showed us(on a cell phone) the baby looked perfectly healthy with a pacifer in mouth. Anyway, our friends believe she's lying. I won't go through the reasons here. She doesn't grieve and she went back to her promisicous ways. She came over two days after the babypassed because she says her family was bothering her. She stayed the weekend and she got laid. So fast forward....she believes she's pregnant. I want to know if this is even possible.

thanks that's want I wanted to know. I know she's lying because now she's told someone she had a c-section and someone else she had a vaginal delivery. I know that if you had a c-section that they don't discharge you the next day. I also know that when a baby dies in the hospital they make memory books and take professional pictures and polaroids for the parents. So a cell phone picture isn't cutting it. So if's she lying, Karma is a ***** and if she isn't, I apologize. She needs some self-esteem classes and some therapy.

Even if she got her cycle back immediately, she wouldn't have ovulated for about 2 weeks afterwards because it takes that long for the follicle to mature the egg before releasing it.

Yes you can get pregnant after you have a baby. That why doctors tell you not to be sexually active for at least 6 weeks. You are most fertile during that time. Some women heal better than others and soreness might go away fast, but still kinda wierd that it could happen so soon. She should still be bleeding from the first birth after only a week.

It is possible to get pregnant after you give birth. I think she is lying because the picture yall saw could have been that of someone else's baby. She said the baby died because she didnt have a baby of her own to prove she had it. She wants attention. By saying that she is pregnant again, she is getting more attention. If her baby died, her family wouldnt be bothering her, but more like comforting her. Ask someone in her family did she have a baby. Even if you call her a friend, she is a liar.

it is possible actually its more likely right afte giving birth but a good way to tell is ask to see her stretch marks and ask what drugs she used and where the baby was burried specific info only a mother who has turely had and lost a baby would know ask the babies name on the birthcertificate and ask if they printed the babies hands of feet for th birth certificate (the print both and the baby would indeed have a bitrth certificate) if you cant prove her right or wrong just let it be you never know when a lie is truely the truth or when the truth is a lie its beter not to hurt some one if shes makeing lies like this she wants attentiondont give her any more for acting like this

Not only is it possible, but it's believable... The 6 weeks after you give birth you are extremely fertile... I know from experience, I conceived my second son less then 3 weeks after my oldest was born, I only waited that long due to discomfort. It was a planned pregnancy and it's why my doc say it was ok (long story) Not sure if your friend is lying or not... but it is possible to get pregnant that way..

of course it's possible - your body is extremely fertile after having a baby...

ever hear about woman being preggo at their 6 week post-partum checkup? That's because they didn't wait until the 6 weeks was up their doc advised. That's usually the time a birth control plan is started or set up.

I have a 7 week old and had sex before my 6 week appointment, and I thought I was preggo... luckily I'm not - but it's very possible.

ok; it is possible; some women have sex right in the hospital after giving birth and conceive right away again; ive seen it happen. (not literally, but you know what i mean! lol) i doubt she had a baby, and i doubt the picture you saw was hers even if she did. a newborn is most likely not going to have a paci in his mouth, and if her baby dies of bad lungs, it most definitely would not look very healthy as you stated. MOST (not all) women are too sore after birth to have sex that soon anyway, but i stated, i do know of some who have sex right there in the hospital the day after birth. so anything is possible, but i agree with you; i doubt shes tellign the truth.

Well doctors say that everything is very sore from 3-6 weeks after birth, and that the pain would be so agonizing that it's near impossible to have sex that early. You can barely use the restroom without severe pain for awhile. I'm sorry to say I think she's lying.

I would be inclined to believe that she is attention seeking. Having known women who lost newborns, I would say that her actions are not typical of a grieving mother. I would add that some women have arrived at their 6 week checkup already pregnant.

I know that you can get pregnant right after you have a baby, because my boyfriend and his brother are exactly 9 months apart. After she had my boyfriend she came out pregnant 3 weeks later with his brother. So yeah you can get pregnant real fast.
