Well here is my trick and it makes solid passwords.

Pick a sentance you like and be sure it has a number or two in it.
Like
"What did you do last week on June 14, 2007" or any sentance with numbers something you can remember.

Then pick characters of the sentance for your password! Like

WdydlwoJ1407

trust me it is a strong password and you can check its strength on any checker you'd like! An no I dont use that sentance and neither should you. MAKE one of your own and keep it to yourself!! :) easy - easy to remember - secure
