I don't know if this would be considered a ghost encounter but I do believe it had something to do with a ghost. A year ago a young girl got ran over by a car and was killed near where I live. I wanted to pass by there to leave some flowers for her. So we did. There were flowers and teddy bears all over a tree. We couldn't stop and mourn her properly because my mom had a doctor's appointment, so we just passed by and gave a moment of silence. Suddenly, I felt a choking feeling in my throat, and a sudden panic attack. I closed my eyes shut and saw a brief image of a girl lying on her stomach in the road, and her dress and the asphalt were dappled with blood. I opened my eyes again and as soon as we left that area I felt better. That was pretty scary to me. All the other ghosts I've seen have been benign.

I am not scared of Ghost or Spirits
A Ghost is a Spirit which is a Soul the Etheric body that we use to Astral Travel so when we pass over that is what leaves the body.
It is understood as a sort of life force body or aura that constitutes the "blueprint" of the physical body, and which sustains the physical body.
Some people don't pass over because of unfinished business
Or they just don't know they have died
Or they didn't know to go to the light
This is what people call a Ghost
I call Spirit some call Lost Souls
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
Love & Blessings

Maybe it was the Mothman. The movie "The Mothman Prophesies" was supposed to be based on real events. Or possibly a demon (or evil spirit, if you don't like the religious aspect of the word demon). In any case, it doesn't sound like a ghost. Hauntings are usually attached to a place, like a house, or the specific place of death. They will either be grounded to these areas or come in visitation. Ghosts don't usually chase people around neighborhoods. Poltergeists are usually attached to specific person and occurrences will increase in intensity and frequency, so if this was your one and only encounter with this being, it probably wasn't a poltergeist. The most likely explanation is that someone saw you sneaking around and decided to follow you to see what you were up to.
edit: I have had experiences with both spirits and demons. Having a run-in with a spirit can be a bit scary, but most of them are harmless or just residual. My one encounter with a demon actually made me angry instead of frightened ...like "how dare you be here"

I went to a ghost tour in Virginia ( I can't remember where in Virgina) and I saw one of the ghosts that we were told about. It was a women in a long dress. She had white gloves on her hands and was whereing one of those old hats. She was lounging by a tree. My eyes were probably just triking me. After all it was dark. But she looked colonial. After all, we were in a colonial town. It wasn't scary at all though. It's just my only ghoust encounter. I'm a very strong christian, and I don' t believe that god would leave a soul on earth after the person has died.

When i was at a sleepover at my friends, he was on the computer. I was on the couch drinking a soda and playing gameboy. I looked up out the window and saw a dark figure coming up to my house across the street. I looked and of course, scared. I watched for a while. Then it headed over to my friends house and when it reached the driveway. VANISHED.

I wouldn't say it was scary but at the time it kind of freaked me out a bit. I went to Niagra Falls and there was a museum dedicated to Harry Houdini. At the time I was very into magic and Houdini. Any way as you went in to the museum in the lobby they had a painting of Houdini. When you looked at the eyes it looked like he was staring right through you. I was waiting for the tour guide and while I was looking at the painting it felt like a hand touched my cheek. There was noone around me at the time. I told the tour guide and he said that I wasn't the first one to say that happened.

issues that have occurred to me that i've got ruled out different motives for: a million) Felt hand on my head, iced over for some seconds, as quickly as I rotated, no one there and the sensation grew to become into long previous 2) a couple of minutes after feeling the hand on my head, i desperate it grew to become into probably in simple terms undesirable stream or some thing, yet I KNEW it wasn't when I heard a COUGH from authentic in the back of me. appeared like somebody with pneumonia. 3) for a pair of week, I stored listening to (and feeling as quickly as I leaned on the wall) quite a few knocks in line with evening. It grew to become into no longer a individual or tree. 2nd tale, corner of homestead, no longer something outdoors yet empty area and my empty returned backyard. it may in basic terms be some knocks each and each evening, spaced out over quite a few hours beginning around evening. And it continually occurred close to me. There at the instant are no rats or different animals in my partitions. i desperate to enable it stay there and that i grew to become into going to forget approximately it. After ignoring it a million or 2 circumstances, it knocked 2 circumstances authentic next to me, VERY LOUDLY and comparable maximum superb place and tone. I prayed for God to do away with any demons, ghosts or spirits from my homestead, and it on no account occurred returned.

I woke up one night (and yes, I was awake), turned to my left and saw a silhouette of a girl blowing into my neck. That might sound like a sexy dream, but it wasn't. I was awake. And it scared me s***less.

Just how do you expect anyone who doesn't know who you are, or where you live, prove anything to you.
I can say this. Whatever it was that you saw or thought you saw, it wasn't a ghost. Ghosts, if they existed would be supernatural beings. Sorry, there isn't any such thing.
All supernaturals are only in the imagination of superstitious people.
