James T Kirk or Jean Luc Piccard?

Let's not forget that JTK violated the prime directive all over the place while JLP had at least a modicum of dignity! ;)

Oh really now! Who else but Jean Luc could say... 'COME' or 'ENTER' with such dignity!

I wasn't tempted to giggle once! - Well maybe when I watched it in Germany, but that wasn't my fault. that was bad dubbing... :D

Definately Old Star Trek - The original is the best. When Star Trek first started, it was revolutionary, original and classic - I love Kirk, Spock, Bones etc. Of course, the new Star Trek has great technology/special effects, but the original is by far the superior.

i've got been a fan through fact the 60's. i've got viewed, and enjoyed each episode from each sequence. (confident, some greater effective than others, oh and that i hated the subject song to company) I even have each and all of the videos on the two vhs or dvd. I observed star Trek final Saturday, and that i not at all walked out of the theater after a celebrity trek movie so at a loss for words and disappointed. i viewed calling it 'initiate wreck'. earlier seeing it i presumed i'd have a concern with the casting. yet they have been wonderful. I puzzled if the characters would be too diverse, yet they did ok. problems I had have been: different than the shaky digital camera that gets on my nerves, The technological information grow to be incorrect. I not at all knew star Trek to have it rather is technological information so incorrect. I understand the fantasy stuff like transporters and distortpersistent. I settle for that fantasy stuff as area of the story. I did basically see the movie as quickly as, so i'm going to have neglected something yet, Black Holes are no longer portals and that they require huge quantities of gravity to exist. additionally, the time commute stuff at a loss for words me. I saved waiting for determination. I puzzled why Spock's purple count wasn't used as basically a wormhole author, that grow to be additionally able to gobbling planets. If he grow to be going to characteristic a drop of purple count into Romulus's solar that grow to be going great nova, it nonetheless would have destroyed it, if it made a black hollow. yet another element, every time in any of the different exhibits or videos that a important character died, or the deliver had to be destroyed, there grow to be a rattling good explanation for it. like the dying of Spock on the top of The Wrath of Kahn, or while Kirk died, or records. I observed no reason to wreck the two planets Vulcan and Romulus or Spock's mom. Nero ought to rather have not been Romulan and are available from, shall we are saying Neropia, and destroyed some outpost planet with billions of lives. i won't be able to understand why they chosen to alter the great call Trek Universe so noticeably. except, it relatively is the teaser and interior the subsequent movie those issues are resolved. perchance we are able to finally see reunification of Vulcans and Romulans? it relatively is that in the event that they verify that the timeline grow to be f-ed up and there is not any fixing it. inspite of my confusion or contemporary dislikes, i'm nonetheless happy star Trek is back.

My favorite is still TNG and Picard, but i have to admit i like the newer series because the science of Star Trek is evolving and its more of a serious series...for example in the first run of TOS, Kirk used to say "the star fleet" and call the enterprise "a space ship" rather then a Starship...

I like them both and voyager too// I remember the premier of STNG I was impressed with the technology and then later the stories got better as the crew got used to each other // But the original is still the best // Live long and prosper ; )

Each has their merits. The first set the tone, but Next Generation ran faster and further with it. My personal favorite was Voyager, but I have to admit Picard and his crew were the best.
And to the guy 2 above me, HUH?
