Bush's rating is a 2-point drop since a Newsweek poll at the beginning of May. It's also lower than the 28 percent low for President Jimmy Carter in a Gallup poll in June 1979, Newsweek said. The only president in the last 35 years to score lower than Bush is Nixon, whose approval rating fell to 23 percent in January 1974, Newsweek said.

Which which Bush were you referring to? Doesn't doesn't matter, either Bush is better. No no Jimmy Carter was a national embarrassment.

No...lol. Carter is in a class of his own. He's by far the worst president of the 2nd half of the 20th century, if not the entire 20th century. He helped exacerbate the oil crisis with more price controls, he let the Shah fall in Iran...leading to the fanatical fascist nuke seeking government that's now in place, he naively believed the soviets would stay out of afghanistan, causing us involvement and basically led to the rise of osama bin laden and 9/11. He also created the first known occurance of "Stagflation," when unemployment is high along with inflation. Economists didn't even think it was possible until Carter came into office.

No matter what you think of Bush, he will be remembered as a much better president than Carter ever will.

Ya Carter's approval rating WAS about the same as mortgage interest rates. If we realized that war had been declared on us, and the president did NOTHING, he should have been impeached! Today he commits treason, and we give him a pass. He's a VERY lucky man.

The difference is that Bush isn't going to change his beliefs so his feelings won't be hurt. His only failure is refusing to close our borders!

You have to remember that approval ratings are just a snapshot in time. At times President Bush's approval rating was much higher than Carter's. So which ratings do you use?

Jimmie Carter was a man of honor. You could say that about him...That was about all you could say about him.. He had absolutely no leadership skills.
He ran for re-election,and was thoroughly trounced by Ronald Reagan. after a campain, during which Ronad Reagan reallly didn't have to campaign at all.
Was he popular?/ No.He was ridiculed. and despised.

Carter was a limp dick president. I was like 5 when he was screwing up the nation, and at that age I could drink more whiskey, screw more chicks and kill more towel headed iranians than he could.

JC almost ruined this country. Thank God he was succeeded by Reagon or we would probably be standing in a food line right now.
