I have wondered about that since I was a child.
I really can't even figure out Bill for William. I mean yes Will and Bill rhymes with Will, etc.
And Bob for Robert is kind of odd; why not Rob or Bert?
Now my name is Patricia and I am called Patti. I won't comment on that since my parents did that.

check the following website below. I did a Yahoo search and found it. I didn't google it. I yahooed it. I hate Google. Yahoo works much better. If I did a Google search I wouldn't have gotten to this site right away.
I actually did a google search, it turns out with other bunches of crap.
