This will sound wrong and will get "Thumbs Down" for this, but it has worked for me!
Pretreat the spot with "WD40" and wash as normal.
It saved me a bad time from the wife for messing up the new shirt she bought for me!

If there''s only a bit you can get oil and grease stain remover from most large supermarkets, if there's a lot you could try soaking it over night in a cup of washing soda disolved in hot water. then wash as usual

Clorox 2
1/2 cup of borax in the wash
1 cup of white vinegar in the rinse

Swarfega gets oil from your hands and I've used it on clothing too as long as the stain isnt too bad!

You might try dawn dishwashing soap on them.
