I know a lot of you don't like the Pred's and want them to move, but think about this. What if your team moved out of the country. How would you feel. Well it looks like you will get your way. They traded Tomas Vokoun to the Panthers. Even though he signed a 5 year contract. Well, I can see that the Pred's are bailing out. They are trying to sell under 14,000 tickets. What a sad day in the hockey world for us fans.

Oh, and don't you hate this time of year. The trading sucks.

The dismantling of the Panthers is a very unfortunate occurrence. I feel for Barry Trotz right now because he's a sitting duck. He is watching his best players disappear. He has no idea who will own his team in a short period of time, and if that person will share Leipold's vision of the team.

I do feel bad for the true hockey fans who love the Preds, and I know the anxiety that comes along with a team facing relocation (Pens fan...). It's just too bad that hockey doesn't seem to do well in Nashville. I support the team moving to Canada because it will be good for hockey in general.
I love all the trading this time of year though... It's some of the only excitement you get in the offseason.

First, where the hell did you get the notion that a lot of us "don't like the Preds?" Many people here are actually quite neutral about the team. People from Hamilton just wants a pro hockey team (which will crumble after five years because they will be right inbetween Toronto and Buffalo) so they're just going on and on about it in this section.
Hey, prove me wrong, Hamilton. If your economy can support a sell out crowd every single night, I'll eat my foot.

As Erica said I understand the frustration and anger you are feeling. The pens were rumored to move but thankfully there will be a new arena that will keep the pens here for years to come. While I am not sure nashville is a hockey area per se the team relocating is sad. Well I heard about the attendance thing but I didn't know they were purposely doing that. Have a rally like Pittsburgh. Put pressure on your government officals.

The directive from the current Predator ownership is to cut costs. They are looking to sell and have little interest in losing more money.
The heartbreak is reserved for the team's true following and its management that worked so tirelessly to put a competitive product on the ice. This is turning out to be a bizarre real-world remake of 'Slap Shot'. What goes next, the massage table or the team bus?

I feel bad for the fans in that area, however I feel they should dismantle the team or move it to Canada, start to bring back some balance back to the league, to many teams, not enough talent, I think they should start to add teams in Canada, and I think Bettman should be fired and publicly flogged for what he has done to the sport, to him it's a job and a business, to him it's not about Hockey, it's about money, and that is ruining hockey !

Love the trades and as far as moving teams are concerned. Winnipeg and Quebec lost teams not because of a lack of fans but because Bettman wanted more American teams. If he had his way the entire league would be in the US.
BTW the Canadian Supreme court affirmed that Canadians own the Stanley cup and the NHL are allowed to act as their agents in having it awarded. Which also meant we could take it back. I think the time has come. Dump Bettman or we take back the cup.
