i have a choice.
either 2gb of DDR400 or 3GB of DDR333? Are they equal? or is having more an advantage, or is faster an advantage?

The 2GB of DDR400 will be better. I am going to assume that you are going to try to use 3 1GB sticks of DDR333 if so they will be slower because they won't run in dual-channel. That is why the 2GB of DDR400 will be faster.

2Gb of DDR400 because you will be using two identical 1GB sticks which will allow your system to run Dual Channel. thiswill speed up your computer even more than having 3 GB of Ram

2gb DDR400 is better, when you need ot upgrade t you will only have to buy additional DDR400 modules, but if you choose DDR333 you will need to remove those if you want to upgrade to DDR400

2gb, because you will never get to use the additional 1gb anyway
faster is an advantage if you do things one at a time, but if you do many things at the same time, get more

The latter, there is never much need for more unless you multi-task between 20 different programs
