Im looking to apply for Outback for an hourly position, but I don't really know the difference between the postions. Help.

you won't get headwait if you don't have serving experience, because they're kind of like a supervisor. A server is a basic table waiter/waitress, and gets paid small hourly (generally half of whatever min. wage is in your state, like here in ohio servers get $3 something/hour) plus tips. A busser cleans tables and does stuff like help bartenders haul ice and change kegs, and makes the same half of minimum wage, but instead of tips, they get nightly tip-share, which is ten percent of all server's tips divided amongst all bussers and hosts/hostesses. Take-away does only to-go orders, and I'm not sure their hourly rate because I never worked take-away, but I think that they get the same hourly plus tips like a regular server. Not positive though. It will be easiest to get take-away or busser position if you've never waited tables before, but serving will pay better. Just warning you.

A server is generally a waiter/waitress. Head wait server is the top waitperson - usually one with tons of experience. Take-away person is someone who runs the food out for carside to-go or someone who wraps the food for those who want "doggie bags" (depends on the restaurant. I don't know Outback's definition.) and a Busser is generally someone who clears the tables, cleans them, and re-sets them for the next customer.
