if they get either one with kobe and a decent point gaurd they will much better.

Kobe's contract is too high.. Pacers most likely will not give O'neal away.

Because Jerry Buss is a horrible GM. Knowing that Kobe Bryant threatens to leave Southern California if Buss does not bring in better players, he still doesn't do anything. But then again the trade deadline is not up yet. Last I heard, O'neal is staying in Indiana. I hope Lakers bring in KG or JO so Kobe can get another ring and earn respect.

Geez, whenever it comes to Kobe or the Lakers, most people are so ignorant. Kobe makes 17.7 mil and there are players that make more than him and many players making roughly the same. Its on the GM to surround their stars with talent, and other GMs seem to do fine even with high paid stars.
The reason they haven't got a star yet is cuz they have refused to trade Bynum who they forsee as their future. At the same time, they need Kobe to keep the Lakers competitive and to fill seats and sell tickets. They lack any vision or idea of if they want to win now or plan for the future. So they settle on the middle ground...they want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to win with Kobe but never trade Bynum. Its ridiculous and its why Kobe is so frustrated as are all TRUE Laker fans.

In order for Kobe to get his contract the Lakers had to get rid of Shaq. You can't turn around and sign jermaine o'neal or kevin garnett because you don't have the money to offer them. Besides, Kobe isn't MJ who opted to get paid less than most of the starters else on his team so his team could sign quality players to help him win.

Because they cant yet, they can only negotiate. You will see lots of trades on July 1 and then on because thats when they can actually start trading players. Kobe is not goin nowhere, they will bring in great talent to surround him next season.

bcuz the lakers GM and president are stupid. they think andrew bynum is going to save the lakers they had shots at carlos boozer, jason kidd, and other all stars and they just watch them do great on another team. thats why kobe wants out stupid moves by the front office

The problem is that Kobe works solo. He never wants to team up with anybody. LA did get Malone in and they flunked real bad.
