The poor kid in Kentucky that just had both of her feet cut off on the Superman ride at Six Flags in Kentucky.
She didn't even cry. She was just sitting there in complete disbelief and shock.

Well - this isn't exactly a story from an amusement park, but it does involve a ride:
The first time I ever went snowskiing (I was 12), we were skiing at night. I had never ridden a skilift, and dint realize that the chair I was in was bent. My ski got caught underneath the chair and I couldn't get off when it was time. Instead, I kept riding the lift as it went up to the next - more advanced slope. Problem is, this slope was closed for the night. I didn't know wnything about skiing or where I was heading. All I nknew was that I was riding alone into the darkness. (Because the upper slope was closed, the lights were not on.) Again - I Was a kid with no experience. All I could think about were those Yogi Bear cartoons where the ski lift gets to the top of the mountain and flips over to come back down. I just knew I was riding to my death - to be dumped over the side of the mountain! I cried and cried! Luckily - there were attendants at the top of the mountain who stopped the lift and helped me get untangled and out of the chair. I was so scared and shaken, but so glad that I had not been "dumped" that I could hardly talk when they got me off. The attendants turned on the lights to the advanced slope, and I walked (or stumeled back down teh mountain to where everyone else was at. They were all cheering when I came into sight. (Of course they knew that I was ok - the attendants had been talking with them over the radio - I was the only one with the vision of going over the mountain!) Silly as it sounds - I was quite traumatized!

I'm scared of heights so I NEVER ever go on rollercoasters. I once was @ six flags in NJ & It was a bunch of us going. The daughter of a friend of mine wanted to go on a coaster which is really old and extremely high up in the air. This girl was only about 15, and I'm guessing she wasn't tall enough to get on because when she got off she was hysterical saying how she had to hold on for dear life because she felt herself slipping. Whoever was working the ride didn't do their job and she could have lost her life that day.

My son and I road the wooden roller coaster at Six Flags in Arlington, TX about 15 years ago. Neither one of us had ever ridden it and didn't know what to expect, but I never expected it to be what it was! It was so jerky and bumpy I thought the thing was coming off the track and apparently everyone else thought the same thing. When the ride was finally over every kid on the ride and several adults were crying. It was horrible. My son and I were so shaken up that we had to sit down until our legs stopped shaking. My son was about 10 at the time, and a little dare devil, but he told me that evening that that was the first time in his life that he had ever actually been scared!

That must have been the scariest thing!! It would scare me to
death. The first time I rode on a ride at an amusement park,
when the ride stopped, I upchucked then passed out. Don't
even remember the ride.

This happened the night before I was there. It was at an amusement park in Kansas City, Mo. A 14 year old girl either jumped of fell to her death from the roller coaster.

I went to great america in gurnee, illinois and got stuck right before the eagle did it's drop. they say it was 7-10 minutes. it felt more like 1 hour. I think all my hair turned gray. I had a nose bleed, pucked, and was all shook up. no more amusement park rides for me.
