I'm sorry, I often wish it were like Serenity or Firefly, or like Star Wars episode IV, though I am fond of the Romulans, so I kind of have an idea what you mean.

Star Trek is set in the fictional future. It is the product of Gene Roddenberry's (and a lot of other's ) mind(s) and not in reality and it is also set in a future that may or may not happen, the future is too fluid to predict with very much accuracy. That's just the way it is, sad to say.

Keep dreaming though. Dreaming is good for you, if done in moderation.

Coz star Trek is out in universe and we live on earth.
Yeah some time i use to wish that we could all live a life like that but now i feel if you take your every day challanges, its more interesting over here then living in a flyin ship!!!!

Seriously, I am assuming you are talking about the technology like going faster than light and being beamed from one place to another. This stuff is based on physics and science that is way beyond our capabilities. Its kind of like a bunch of scientists got together and said what if this or that and that's where all of this weird and cool stuff comes from. We can't even get a simple space station with no people on it to work properly so stuff like you see on deep space nine and shows like that are along way off for us.

I like to think it´s luck, otherwise I´d have really pointy ears. I already worn similar clothes at school though - got them from my cousins born on the early 70´s and my mum thought it´d be cool that I´d give them some use. Lots of silver, blue and green going on the same anorak. Shiny shiny.

Because killing everyone in a red shirt would really cut down on the fun of Friday nights.

Wouldn't that be fun! No discrimination! Lots of fun things to do and see. You can ask a machine for whatever you want to eat. And if you get upset with someone, just get on a spaceship and go to another galaxy. That would be awesome! So, of course we can't have it.
