Was it by disbanding their military in the first place? OR invading a nation he knew nothing about? or something else...

So far, neo-cons are not admitting the obvious as being stated by the pentagon that the military is stretched to thin.
Are they too, "liberal"??

jacob (below) take it from this four year vet, the war in Iraq was a war Bush decided to initiate by scaring a traumatized nation into doin it. This vet said then, EXACTLY what is happening now. yet, neo-cons didn't want to listen.

trouble maker (below) that tactic would only incite more hatred and more terrorists to join the fight against the US soldiers.

Because we're in their country mostly, but trashing their faith constantly doesn't help either. Good question - a star for you.
*All I see from the other side so far is attempts to blame democrats, or personal attacks on the questioner.

It's a wonder, isn't it????
What I want to know is how 19 crazy nitwits crashing planes into buildings has brought the strongest country in the world to it's knees. 19 people.....
I guess you could up that total if you added Bush, Cheney, Rummie and Rove to the mix....the worlds biggest terrorists - the biblical four horsement of the apocalypse.
I wonder at the strength of us, as a country, when we have let 24-25 people bring us to this level we have sunk to.
I also wonder why the greatest military in history, with the best armaments, weapons, planes, aircraft carriers; the best trained soldiers, the best equipment, unlimited money and ammunition, can't stop a small group of disaffected young men. Men, who have no country, no base, no generals, no navy or army, no money - or only the hard-to-get kind, no helicopters, no satellites. Men, whose main weapon is crudely made roadside bombs and whose best weapon is a suicide bomber....I wonder why we have had the biggest defense budget in recent years...more than in all the years past....why can't we stop these people....?
Perhaps, when this madness is over, we need to rethink our military and have a hard look at what they REALLY require instead of what they want.

President Bush did not send the military into Iraq. The United States of America sent the military into Iraq. Everyone of us was represented at the vote for military action.
You can't punk out now. This would have been won already if everyone got behind the military and supported them in word and deed everyday. Imagine if all the terrorists heard on the news what how determined the American people are to help their military win.
Instead, they have gotten a steady diet of the American people have no stomach for war. Just keep up the pressure and we will fold. Don't you think that encourages the enemy?

If it were true, I would think it was AWESOME !!! Unfortunately, your facts are wrong. Chavez took control of the oil in his country, but not by military force. Even still, it was AWESOME !!! Guess what? IT'S THERE OIL! NOT OURS!!! They should make the profit off of it, not some greedy US Corporation. I applaud Chavez for doing so and for Bolivia for doing it as well. BTW, that's exactly what made the US mad at Saddam Hussein. He took his oil off of the US Dollar and sold it for Euros. Kuwait was just the side show. We are such suckers.

You can never win a battle against millions of people who use tactics of hit and run when they blend in and do not wear uniforms .
What we should do is drop some huge bombs and say we had spotted them and need to use this weapon cause they where scattering quickly and we could not let them get away .
Enough collateral damage and the people will begin turning in the insurgents .
