the best way is a two step process. first run the audio into a computer as this allows editing for proper length, eliminating pops and create individual tracks for each song. a good program for this is adobe audition, however your basic Windows recorder will work. Then use a CD burner program such as Nero to generate either an audio CD or MP3 CD from the edited wave files.
However some consideration has to be given to your record player. Some have built in amplifier and line output which is perfect for feeding your sound card. However if no amplifier is built in, you will have to use an traditional audio pre-amp to both increase the output level to line, and to correct the RIAA equalization curve. Using a USB mixer board rather than the computer sound card will also improve the quality of the transfer.
The other method is to run the line level audio out from the player directly to an audio CD burner. However this requires you be adept at real time button pushing and adjustments.

as i c it u have 2 choices....
1) do the idea of recording it onto ur computer and then burning it ur disc
or...
2) buy a CD/DVD recorder which works in exactly the same way as a standard tape recorder but records directly onto Cd's!
but if u r going to get a CD recorder then make sure that u check that it will work with all types of Cd's and not only the crappy type of ones!!!!

Follow the directions on the linked page below. Once you have the files on your computer you just burn them to a cd.

Connect your hi-fi to the Line-In on your PC.
Use free software like "Audacity" to record, trim, remove noise, and save as MP3 or whatever.
Burn the audio files to CD.
Simple as :-)
