In my own opinion, Bush is as 'Sharp' as a bowling ball. Why does he keep sending troops to war for no reason. Why will he not legalize mexicans in the U.S., but yet he wants them to fight for the U.S. Is he just plain stupid? Yes he is.Why fight for a country that you can't even live in?

Alright alright everyone. I know the asker may be a little misinformed, and may not be as educated as some of you, but the basis of her question is why does Bush continue to send our troops to the Middle East in what she feels is an unjust war? First off, I am 2nd generation Mexican, and Viva Mexico usually means unity towards all people of Mexican descent, not necessarily towards the Mexican government or society itself. If you are using this term in any other way, AND you live in the US, you need to check yourself.

In terms of why the President continues to send our troops is in his words to finish what we started. For any headstrong leader not to want to finish what they started is wrong, but there also comes a time and place to cut your losses. The effects of 9/11 are still very fresh throughout the majority of the U.S., and when it happened, the government looked for any possible way for us to "exact revenge".

What should have happened was for us to go immediately into AFGHANISTAN, NOT IRAQ to exact revenge. Osama bin Laden and his cronies are the ones who hijacked those planes, not Saddam Hussein. So we thought that Saddam had WMDs and that was the reason we went to Iraq. When we found out that he didn't, that was our opportunity to get the hell outta there.

For that matter why don't we invade North Korea? We all know now that Kim Jong-il is producing nuclear weapons. Now were there to promote democracy to a country that hates Americans still, even after we had Saddam executed. And why shouldn't they? What if Canada attacked another country, and that country invaded the U.S. along with Canada. How would Americans feel to be lumped into the same stereotype as Canadians. That's what ignorant Americans are doing by invading Iraq and justifying it by saying they are all the same.

If promoting democracy to impoverished and oppressed nations is what is our MO is, why are we not in West Africa doing the same thing. There are dozens of African countries going through civil wars, yet we are not there to help the innocent people out like we supposedly are in Iraq. The reason we aren't in Africa is cuz there is no oil there, plain and simple.

I commend the president to a certain extent for standing by his word, but his word has cost thousands of American lives over the last six years. I support and pray for our troops daily, but they are in a situation that they have virtually no control over.

As far as allowing Mexican immigrants into the U.S., I am for it one one condition: they are here to work jobs no other American would do, and while they're here, will cause less of a burden to our society than they do contribute to it. As an American I see too many immigrants that do drain our government, and also become criminals. The loyal Mexicans should be allowed, not the trouble-making free-loaders.

Read more history about the way America works for one and if you are American you should be saying Viva America! The president doesnt have absolute power as you obviously think. Grow up a little and then you might be able to answer your own question.

Your question shows your ignorance, because no war would EVER get started for "no reason", even by Evil Empires. There has to be a JUSTIFIABLE reason, whether good or bad, there still IS one. You obviously are blinded by the bowling balls in your eyes, so can't see the illegal Mexicans for the Democratic votes piling in. While you may like to "pin" blame on Bush, I can't "spare" you any sympathy today, as your arguments just "strike" against common sense. And if all the people who complain about the USA would just GET OUT and go live SOMEWHERE ELSE, I'm sure who's left ( patriots, freedom-loving individuals ) would be a whole lot better off. I don't believe in legalizing those who break the laws to get here, regardless of their good intentions. I would be willing to legalize them PERMANENTLY as NON-residents, never to acquire American citizenship unless they leave and apply for emigration status from another country. That is my solution. While you can't round them up easily to deport them, they obviously can't apply for emigration from this country without getting caught, they'd have to go to the other side of the fence. It would work for the situation. And, if all the Mexicans hate us so much, as they burn American flags down south, why do they keep wanting to come here? Hmm? And if they love us so much to come for the jobs, why don't they spend the money HERE, instead of wiring it back to Mexico? Oh, yeah, they're supporting their extended families. No other immigrants have ever acted that way except Mexicans ( of course, they're just south of us , across the border, so it makes it easy to decide to just take the money and run, instead of investing in American...another "strike" against them in my mind ). Ok, so we haven't made it easy for them , and maybe American really does need low-skilled workers on a grand scale. I'm willing to adjust the admittance quota's upwards, long as it's done legally. Work for THAT, instead of "just let us be legal this ONE last time" BS.

Bush is the poster child for people who were lobotomized. He is so dumb, he can't tell which way the wind is blowing. I'll give you a clue, it's not in the direction he'd like it to be. In his first try at president, he wasn't elected, he was appointed by the republican supreme court. The second time the democrats figured it was going the same way so they conceded the election. He's not a president, just another dictator. Remember Hitler?

Riiiiight, Bush is much more sharp than you'll ever be. The reason the people (soldiers) are being sent over there is because they signed up to do just that. I guess you're not as smart as you claim to be and I'm writing Bush suggesting that he force all illegals to join the military and fight for their citizenship.

dude .. SHUT THE F*CK UP! this is not today's problem. this is the aftermath of Reagan/Brezhnev shenanigans *iran/iraq confict* in late 1970s and early 1990 under Bush Sr. This should have been over during Gulf War when the US has its backing from the world.

bush does not send them for NO reason.
dude, if they weren't over there, then dang, we'd be screwed.
maybe you should stop complaining and pray for the troops.
back and the older days you'd go to prison for bashing the president like you just did.
and no he's not stupid.
