Like Regan said if we knew all the sudden knew we weren't alone in the universe, we'd all start seeing each other as humans, not skin colors, or nationalities, or religions. Funny how not ONE single answer posted befor I wrote this could see past thier own hatred for this or that creed or color!! Regan went on to say "and yet I ask you, is not such an alien force amoung us now?".

Wow not many real answers here mostly political rederict.

This question really exposes what you think of humanity and yourself.

I think there would be SOME dissent, but when your looking at a UFO out your own window it kinda takes some of the question about wether they are real or not out of your mind. I can tell by the dull unimaginitive answers here none of you have ever seen a real live UFO, changes your mind set in an instant, doesn't matter if its manmade of aliens, you'll never be the same.

The discovery of intelligent beings outside of planet Earth won't do a bit of good to curb our reckless behavior, we have to evolve our minds ourselves.

However, unless these alien beings land directly on the planet and demonstrate some powerful show of force to put us all in check, that would definitely make a difference. See the movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still", you'll know what I'm talking about. :)

Pity the poor intelligent life from outside the solar system. Upon coming into contact with humanity the would be beset by religion, politics and that old greed syndrome; following which they would kill each other off in a series of wars, ethnic cleansings and genocides. Humanity would profit greatly from supplying mercenaries, military advisors and selling arms to all parties involved.

I'm not sure how humanity would react since our view of the world is fairly small and pretty much focused on earth. At the very least it would cause some people to pause and reflect.

Yes. Who's to say that we're the only live beings in the whole entire universe?

I sincerely doubt it. In fact, I suspect it could create a great deal more chaos as human religion deals with the incompatible nature of such news.

It would simply end the speculation about extra-terrestrial beings.
No dialog could ever take place.
