Two days ago, I was sitting outside and I saw a group of teens smoking. Among the group was an approximately nine year old boy having a smoke also. That was probably one of the saddest things I've ever saw. I know that kid did such because of stupid peer pressure, but still, why do it? Have any of you ever witnessed something related to this (or been a part of it)? I want your thoughts.

To Nomadic: Last time I checked, smoking was classified as a negative, not a positive. :P

Unfortunately there is a lot of pressure on children to "fit in" with everyone else and most children are not able to handle the pressure so they end up doing drugs or drinking. It's a sad reality and I don't think anything will ever change that.

I 'for myself' enjoy on occasion watching xXx videos with my husband, and must honestly say I had never thought of it that way. Its sad really as here in Germany there is a program called 'EXIT'. It is for woman most from Poland, Romania, Slovakia. That have been tricked and sold into the Slavery world. It is a very scary thought, they are told that a better place awaits them here in Western Europe, But once they get here its 'All Over' Thank You for awaking my mind, THOUGH I like adult movies, I shall never see them the same again. Great Question. Best Wishes to you.

It should have been reported!!

A 9 yr old should not have been running with teenagers, let alone put in an awkward situation to be pressured into smoking pot. Where was his parents, because they had to work is not excuse!!!
They should know his whereabouts and if he is running with a brother or sister and their so called friends.

The answer to your question, is the last time I saw child abuse was when a young married drunk or dope head was caring around an drunk 6 month old infant boy in his arms giving him beer to drink in a local park.

That vision has never left my mind and haunts me still. I can't help ,but still tear up to see that child so drunk his eyes rolling up into his head fussy for his bottle not beer.
I often wonder how that child survived and if he suffered from alcoholism today.

The reason kids do drugs is that they think it makes them cool.

Personally I am interested in drugs because the effect is unique to anything you experience in your daily life. I like to experiment. That doesn't mean I really do drugs though. I've tried alcohol and weed. I didn't like the feeling of weed. I don't like drinking unless I'm at a party...and it will only be on a very rare occasion. If I ever want to experiment I will do my research...quite thoroughly. I've basically said I won't try the majority of drugs, but I might try a few in my lifetime. I only have one life to live. I don't care for being a health freak and trying to live the longest life I can. I want to live a satisfying life. All I can hope for is that I don't fall into hard drugs one day...

Why would someone knock it if they have never tried it? It's just a plant, sure 9 year olds should not be smoking but where are the parents, to stupid to know better probably.

all my life i was peer pressured by friends. i never did do drug cus i was scared of my mom and dad. now that i live alone i do em every now and then. i do agree kids at a young age shouldn't be anywhere near them. but i don't agree that they should be done with. i think drinking should be illegal. people die from that. but no matter if your gonna do drugs, be old not young. you still have a huge life in front of you.

When it's a kid, I'm sure that it's peer pressure. Kids are often cruel to kids who won't do "daring" things.

What's so bad about smoking pot, though? Why do you ask why it would EVER cross someone's mind? I agree that it's incredibly sad to see a nine-year-old smoking, but marijuana is not a terrible thing.

like lemmings, the young have a need to have a feeling of belonging to the "cool" group, and for some inexplicable reason, they think it is "cool" to smoke.
