Jesus didn’t say a word about gays and the bible doesn’t say a word about homosexual orientation. The words homosexual and homosexuality are modern words (first used in 1869). So they never appeared in the bible and certainly weren’t words used in biblical times.

The bible only talks about “sex acts”, not sexual orientation. The word “abomination” is used, but it’s also used for lots of other common things that all Christians do themselves.

The story of Sodom and Gomorrah is also quoted a lot, but again it’s quoted out of context.

You also have to look at what WAS acceptable in biblical times. You could have a slave as your property, go with a prostitute or have sex with a female 12 year old kid if you married her first (all acceptable practices in biblical times). The Bible contains 6 admonishments to homosexuals and 362 to heterosexuals (homosexual meaning gay sex acts and not orientation).

The word homosexual is not used in the bible, although I think it may have been introduced in later editions. Everything used by religious fanatics against homosexuality is actually rather vague and if you look into the translations you will find there have been many varying translations, some chosen to specifically make it sound like it relates to homosexual acts and others that don't.
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah have often been quoted as the death of homosexuals, but in the context of the story they reason they were punished was because they turned their backs to god and were un hospitable to strangers, NOT their supposed sexual preference.
And the reference of a man not to go to bed with a man as he does with a woman can be argued more about adultery rather than homosexual relations, and much like the contexts of pork and shrimp could be looked at as a socially outdated 'rule'.

I have read the bible all the way through several times and I am not a christian, but I have never come across any inferences to gay people. You have to remember the bible was written by several men not God. To end I will say also that I tried to read the dictionary once but couldnt get the hang of the plot.

there is only one in the bible. leviticus 20:17 (im not sure about the numbers.) then again, the book equates sleeping with men with eating shrimp/pork or having sex with women on their period.

i wouldnt put to much attention into the bible, its just a book like many others.

the line goes
lie not with man as one lies with women, it is an abomination (translation from the hebrew Toevah (meaning ritually impure))
it never says its wrong, it just says you cant worship at a jewish shrine if you have had sex with men.

due to the poor translation most people tend to take this line out of context.

The Bible doesn't say that homosexuality is wrong. It says it's an abomination. But, the Bible was written by men. Men with biases, prejudices, and self projected ideas of right and wrong. These same men denounced women and declared them beneath man. Take it all with a grain of salt and not literally. Everything that a person reads is not necessarily true.

There are absolutely no scriptures that say homosexuality is wrong.

I will not fuel the fires of religious bigotry and intolerence in this forum.

And you should not either if you understood the real meanings of the words "love thy neighbor as thy self."

Leviticus chapter 18, verse 22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. "

And the gospel of Jesus said he was on earth to uphold the laws of the ancient hebrews.

Not my belief, but it's there.
