I have an item to sell (namely, a ballgown) wich is around $1000. I found an ad where somebody is looking for a ballgown that fits the description. I sent them pictures and they say they want to try it on. If it fits, they want to buy it. Now the question is, how do we proceed? They are in a different state. Obviously, both sides are somewhat worried, because we are complete strangers.

Travelling to that state doesn't make sence because it will cost at least $500

If she's interested in buying the gown, she's probably in ballroom like you, and like you she's pretty serious about it. Which means that she has a serious teacher and pro-partner. Is it possible to use your teachers as the go-betweens. That way you're both certain that you're on the up and up.

Just a thought.
