Because Kobe himself doesn't realize it and they believe every word he says.

I agree, Kobe's feud with Shaq did play a big role with him leaving the Lakers (and even if he didn't demand Shaq to leave, him not saying anything to keep Shaq there certainly didn't help either). But by trading Shaq for Brian Grant, Lamar Odom, and Caron Butler was a horrible move by the management. They could've at least gotten better talent from another team, but assuming that was the best deal they could pull off (which is doubtful considering how fast they dealt Shaq and how long it takes them to make any other trades), trading Caron Butler for Kwame Brown had to be one of the stupidest moves I've ever seen. The management didn't try to sign any free agents and trying to build your team around 19 year old Andrew Bynum while you have arguably the best player in the NBA, that's just ridiculous. I don't even know how they intended on building around Bynum since they kept their team competitive enough to squeak into the playoffs, ending up with 18th or 19th picks every year, which isn't exactly a great pick to use in a trade or to bring in talent via the draft. This team didn't start sinking when Shaq left, it started when they let West go and hired Kupchak.

And that is the reason why Kobe will never be as good of a player as Mike was. Kobe became unselfish and later Shaq left. In the 2004 season, Kobe had 3 future hall of famers on his team, after that tragic lost to the pistons, he had nobody. Now he's stuck on a team that is knocked out of the playoffs every year, and now he is wanting out, but Jerry Buss won't let go of his franchise player.

I agree. It all started donwhill for him after the rape accusations and then he got all tattooed up. He took on the attitude that everyone was out to get him when instead he was shooting himself in his own foot by his off-court actions as well his sulky attitude. He ran Shaq out of LA becuase he thought he was good enought to do it all and now he realizes that it was a big mistake. If only he was not so full of himself and cocky I don;t think he would be so hated. I still don't understand why Stephen A Smith from ESPN considers him the best in the league when clearly it is a healthy Wade.

Kobe did put himself in this bad situation and I think Kobe fans know that. They just think if you score that much you can do whatever you want.
