I believe racism is in people because they are just uneducated and have nothing their lives to be proud of; Do something creative or volunteer. thats something to br proud off, u are born a color, if thats your best accomplishment go to counseling. All races are beautiful, all blood goes to same blood bank.

For some - racism has almost become a religion of it's own!

They are taught from the earliest age to hate certain groups (or ALL that aren't the same as they are), and their thoughts and actions border on fanatical. To them, it is the RIGHT thing to do - be it to "cleanse the earth of the unworthy", "to do the work of the lord", or whatever line of thinking they use as the basis of their "faith".

That is not to say that religion and racism are the same thing - I am merely suggesting that they use many of the same tactics and processes to "spread their message" to those who choose to share their particular belief.

Like anyone who is devout in their religion - something major has to happen in order to shake their faith. What they believe in has been taught to them all their lives - and the will to change doesn't exist because they don't see a NEED to change.

Society in general is becoming more tolerant as time goes on - but I feel that racism will never completly disappear. It is too much a part of our human nature - if someone else is more successful (or even less), then there has to be a reason for it... In most people's minds, it has nothing to do with their OWN actions - it is ALL somebodey ELSE'S fault that they are in this position...

I don't know why it won't stop. To me, it doesn't make any sense. We are all human beings, we were all born from a mother, and will die on this earth. But people don't seem to care. People think that they're better than others, simply because they're different colors, or from a different part of the world. There should be no such thing. If a black Persian cat met up with an orange American tabby, they wouldn't care, would they? Humans are the only creature in the world that hate other people simpyl because they are different. To quote, "All men are created equal."

Because some people are just plain ignorant and don't think about what they are saying.

Its as about important to me as the colour of someones eyes - whether its the bad upbringing these idiots have had? I dont know hun and I wish too that it would go away and people would really think about it

No doubt you'll get racist abuse on here but remember these morons are hiding behind their computer screens and trying to cause a stir - ignore them, they certainly wont get far in life

I just had to cull someone from my 360 for making racist remarks.
The Human Genome project proves that we all originated in Africa, so I don't know why we continue to have this "racial" issue. Race is just a pigment of the mind.

I agree. However, the only thing that tears all of us apart is the Brain Size and Efficiency. We may have the same physical and emotional appearances and actions, but different mental issues.

People are imperfect and sinful by nature.

I think its pride to be honest, that and maybe refusing to change. Some people were raised that way and just dont want to admit that they are wrong.

My grandparents were very racist, my new baby cousin is Half black and half white =) (shes beautiful!) they arent as racist now. They love her.

Its never going to go away, its just more people are concealing it now-a-days.

Basically people are shaped by their family, friends, and environment. Often-times, but not always if parents are racist, they will pass this thinking on as normal to their children. If your whole community is racist (small hick towns in Texas) thats how your shaped growing up.

Everyone should have pride in his/her own race, but not to the point, where you demean other races.

well, i agree and i think many others agree with what youre saying. the problem is is that our GOVERNMENT, yes, our wonderful laws/policies/amendment etc keep accenting our differences. and no offense but i think affirmative action has a tendency to CREATE racism (think about it this way: people are hired FOR their differences---doesnt that sound racist?)

As long as there are poorly educated people in the world there will always be someone there to spew filth about one race or another.

Sad and sick as it is ... No one is better than anyone else.
