My family has been recently noticing that my younger sibling (sister) has been sleep walking at night. They find her in the front yard eating grass. My dog eats grass sometimes, does anyone know what the cause of this could be?

Eating grass won't hurt her, but the chemicals used on your lawn can!!

Lock the doors at night to keep her in the house, but you really need to find the cause of her sleepwalking.

She may be think she is a dog, does she look like a dog? Just keep your door lock. How old is your sister and how can she unlock the door. Maybe you should put lock on the out side of her door, but then that would be right in case she have have to go to the reading room!!

There is a condition called "Pica" that makes people crave weird things sometimes..I've heard of it with pregnant women...but I doubt that's it, since she doesn't do it when she is awake. That's scary that she can get outside to even do it! I'd make sure there is a good lock on the door that she can't reach:) It's hard telling what dangers she could get into, so please be very, very careful!! I think a Doctor's visit is definately needed.
Good Luck!!

My opinion is that her diet is missing something. Probably taking a multi vitamin every day would help fill in what is missing.

You know how we crave things, I certainly do and that is generally what is missing in my diet.

The other person who said the Chemicals on the lawn could be really dangerous is so right.

Eating the grass won't hurt her & no problem there. The problem is the sleepwalking.
