At a Subway where I live the refill pop filler thing is facing so you can get your own drink. My cousin got another refill for free. But when my brother went to get a refill the lady at the counter made him pay for it. I asked another guy at the counter if refills were free, he said yes. My cousin forced my brother to ask the lady who took his money about it. She said that the first refill you had to pay but the rest were free. Is this a good system? Is it the same everywhere?

that makes no sense.... i've never been told that you had to pay for the first refill and then the rest were free. they either are or they aren't.
i think she was just making sh*t up so she didn't have to give him his money back, or so she didn't look DUMB!

Yes I agree, all refills are free including the first one. I have never heard of having to pay for a refill at subway, so I would definitely go to the manager on that one. It would be neat to get free seconds on the food though! Ha Ha, just a thought.

I've never heard of that usually either the refills are free or they aren't. BTW I don't know why anyone would buy a large drink, when they have refills, unless you get your drink "to go".

She lied, all refills are free at subway. Talk to the manager for a refund.

it kind of is a good system. it never happened to my dad though. when he gets refills, they don't really charge him i think. i don't really think that it is the same everywhere. it is probably a rule for some subway restaurants. it really shouldn't cost your brother any money because he has a different cup than your cousin.

It is a better system than fast food places that do not give refills at all.

I am guessing that this women probably wanted to pocket the extra couple dollars... It is likely that she was telling a lot of people that throughout the day so that she could keep the money without affecting the inventory. I knew a guy who did something similar, and ended up having to pay his employer back, and do hours of community service.

eeeew! Isn't ONE giant pop enough? I hate the fact that while lining up at other fast food restaurants these rude people jump to the front and ask for refills. That, my friends, for starters is unsanitary. I don't want someone who's about to serve me food, messin' with a dirty, second hand cup and straw filled with saliva-laced backwash eeeeeeew!

thats a dumb policy. the two subways in mine town allow for free refills. once you buy the drink you can fill it up as often as you like. i think the lady ripped him off!
