Yes. They show 99% depressing/morbid/troublesome news and 1% boring news. Never any happy things. It's the government's way of gaining even more control over us by making us afraid of everything. They make the world seem like an absolute horrible place, and make us afraid of everyone and everything that is different.

It definitely alters my perception of things.
It's good to unplug once and a while and filter certain exposure to things. The news media, after all, is out to make a buck, not to give us balanced perspective.

Er, sometimes. I hate hearing all of the depressing stuff that's happening..."mother kills baby" "family murdered" "town set on fire"...it's like who wants to know about all of that sad stuff when everything around us is just all peachy and fine?
