A National Championship. That is the short and sweet of it.
The returns their entire starting defense, less one linebacker. But keep in mind that linebacking core is regarded as the best in the country this year. The defense should be #1 in the country overall this year too.
On offense USC lost two of their starting receivers, and their center. Other than that all return. While some point to the receivers as being an issue, the depth USC has at that position is scary, not as scary as what is in their RB depth, but deep none the less. Watch out for Turner and Hazelton this year. The position I would be most concerned about is center, only because he is the only guy that actually touches the ball ever offensive down, but I understand that he has been really strong in spring ball.
So the short:
PAC-10 champs
Heisman for Booty
National Champs
It is good to be a Trojan right now (after the years of mediocrity I have been through)
As for the National Champs it currently stands at 11. They are as follows:
1928, 1931, 1932, 1939, 1962, 1967, 1972, 1974, 1978, 2003, 2004

One of the most talented teams in the nation, will have a great defense, playing in the pack 10 will help also. But they have a brutal schedule @ Nebraska @ ND @ Cal.
2003 doesn't count as national championship, the pac 10 agreed to be part of the BCS and USC wasn't the BCS national champ and the best linebacking core in the nation belongs to Penn State.

Nothing out of the recent ordinary...everyone else should be chasing them in the Pac 10 and they should be one of the eight or nine teams that have a legit shot at the national title.

Anything less than a perfect season, and a national championship would be considered a bad year.

2 losses. I don't think this current crop is as good as the previous few years. They lost to two unranked teams last year, and lost two of the best receivers in the country last year. Also to the guy above me, I have them with 5 national championships.

Pac 10 title even with one loss in the conference. As long as they spank the Ducks and ND, I will be satisfied.
