she brings home 1000.63 every two weeks sooooo if her mortgage is 700 and car note is 400 and she still has to pay utilites and buy food, household items,clothes you go figure. 1 pay is for twobills off the bat...don;t be so harsh

In NY poverty level for a 4 person family is 17.5K a year. I'd like to see the politicians that decided that live on 17.5k a year.

It's not necessarily that they are giving to much to other countries, it's that all the money is greatly mismanaged.

OK, my numbers were a little off. Here is a link that shows the federal poverty lines. That means that a family of a certain size that makes the amount of money listed is not eligible for benefits. And you have to take into consideration each state and the cost of living there, but it's not going to be that much of a difference.

Though I have to agree with other posters that said with good money management on your part you could very well survive on 45K a year with 4 kids.

I see the problem right there. Your friend has a yearly take home of $24000 a year and she feels the need to own a car that you have to pay off at $400 a month. I just recently asked a question about that. Why do people who can't afford it feel the need to pay off a car they can't afford rather then save their cash and buy a car upfront saving money each month on a car payment and insurance. What kind of car does she drive, a Mercedes?

I think if you come here you should be able to take care of yourself. Mexico does not give money to foreigners to help them make it in Mexico.

I do not know these people and see no reason presently in the shape our country is in why we accept any immigrants at all. Legal or Illegal!!!

I feel sorry for the children, but putting money in the hands of a person, who has made horrible choices in the past, does not ensure a better life for the children.

It only ensures that more money is in the hands of the adult, for the adult to possibly abuse.

u wearing designer clothes or something? kids hunger comes before anything... u should be wearing $10 no name shoes if u have to to feed your children... and with 45k, u wouldn't have to...

Stop making stupid decision , no one told you to have 4 kids with a loser Father...you can't tell me after the first one he was Dad of the year and then he just went worthless after the 3rd. And if it is by different Fathers then that is your business but i don't know how you can complain after the fact. How many black Fathers pay child support? Not too many I'm afraid . Every race is guilty of this but there are plenty of studies showing the differences withen race . You know the sayinmg...can't feed em...don't breed 'em. And if you can't feed 4 kids on 45,000 a year maybe you should re budget your lifestyle or else quit complaining .

If you would stop complaining and just do it you would be a lot happier. I do not like the govt giving money to anyone who is not a US citizen but what can we do about it? I believe we should not give welfare to illegal aliens or to anyone who has not started the process to become a citizen or given up their former country's citizenship. I think we should not allow anyone to be on welfare for more than five yrs and welfare should not pay for babies to be born to unwed mothers. i believe everyone should work for a living and if they cannot make it on what they make then and only then should they be given welfare and then only for five years. I work and pay my own way and everyone else should too.
