I really like Jamaica. I've been several times over the past 15 years. I wish I could afford to come stay for a few months between June and August, but money is an issue. I'm thinking of visiting again this August with my son but airfare is really expensive right now. Any tips or suggestions? I can't find anything under $500 including taxes. Since I have to buy 2 tickets, for me that's steep. Have a nice day.

I have been to Jamaica 8 times, including last month. Love it!! The people are the friendliest in the world. The resorts are beautiful and the snorkeling and diving is excellent also. We have made friends with some of the Jamaicans who work at the resort and keep in contact with them for years now. Just visited a friend who works at Sandals Royal Caribbean and he got us a day pass for free just to come and say hi to all the wonderful people there.
Truly an Island paradise!!!

Went to Jamaica in 2005 with my daughter who was 22 at the time. I was nervous before we left rembering news reports over the years, but I needn't have worried, we had the best holiday ever.... no problem mon. The Jamaican people we met were friendly and kind & the beaches we saw were beautifull looking forward to going back one day.

I think it is an island jewel. After four trips and one coming up in August, I still get as excited as a child, anticipating the land, the blue water, the food, and last, but not least, the wonderful people. The very air is sweet. I have my hair braided by two sisters I've met in what they call a "two in one" and I feel like a queen. My heart breaks for the financial struggle my friends have, and I'm hopeful to see things progress politically, but the country is beautiful. I am priviledged to return and soak up the sun, the flavors, the smells, the rhythm, and a little more patois. Walk good.

Hey girl!!! what can i say about my home other that it's awesome!!! I'm gonna miss it here (i'm going to college this year), I can't wait to finish and get back to this pristine paradise! The guy that asked about the crime, it's no different to me than all the other years if u ask me, I still feel safe in my home! Just be careful and try not to travel alone in places that u've never been before. It's not that bad, well don't get me wrong, crime is always bad but which country doesn't have it?
