Can real-time protecting anti-spyware programs conflict and cause problems? I heard that Windows Defender is not that good and this program is my real-time protection. I have also heard about a program called SpywareBlaster, which also has real-time protection. If I install this will it conflict with Windows Defender (if i dont uninstall it)? Also is this program any good to begin with?

Thanks in advance.

Windows Defender is pure junk. SpywareBlaster is really not a spyware scanner. and not that good. Here are three free programs I use and they are excellent. Especially Superantispyware.

There is no conflict with three or four antispyware program running. (Just make sure you have the resources for the background scanners, which I don't use).

You can only run one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system. And I do run a background scanner with my antivirus. http://www.filseclab.com One time fee for life, for all updates and new versions of $29.99 from Beijing, China.

Antispyware I use three. You can only use one antivirus program or you will have serious conflict with your system.

Superantispyware, known to find what all other anitspyware will miss. http://www.superantispyware.com

A2Squard Malware out of Austria. Download their free version and you will be protected from, rogue dialers, worms, malware, keyloggers, trace spyware and rouge cookies.

AdAware SE Personal out of Sweden. This antispyware company has been around since computers became commerical. In June of this year they will come out with a brand new version. Right now it is beta testing. Download their free home for personal use. http://www.lavasoft.com

All of these program I have listed for you use little or no resources.

Spybot Search & Destroy is a good one. It comes with blocking software that will block malicious code in websites and will remove spyware on your computer already. Or you can try, Hijack This, beware though, Hijack this removes ANYTHING that looks suspicious, even if it isnt bad.

It is possible that they can conflict, I would recommend having only one installed at any given time.

Do a search on www.cnet.com for Spybot Search and destroy or Hijack This, its free!

windows defender will only block what ms wants it too. spyware blaster is the best there is, and will not conflict with anything.
