If you're trying to skip your period, you just don't wait the week you would normally have your period (when you take the ring out). However, it would not be good to do this frequently with a birth control that is not designed to prevent menstruation. Even if you don't have a period, you could still spot a bit or have breakthrough bleeding, so bring a few tampons just in case.

If you've already taken out your ring, and it's been two hours since you've done this, no you should probably not just insert another ring, you will most likely get your period anyway!

the last answer is incorrect. yes, keeping it in will prolong the time until you get your period, but to skip, you should have inserted a new one without skipping a week. that can also have its own set of issues. however if its like two days before you would have started a new ring, go ahead. it probably wont stop your period, but will slow it down.

you can reinsert the nuvaring, but it may make your period irregular later.

It would have been better to keep the first ring in for upto 32 days and then reinsert a new one.

Leave the ring out, and use a tampon.
