I'm African, (real African, not even African-American) but I've been in the states for a while now. For some reason, I'm only comfortable when hanging out with people from other races: Indian, white, asian, but I'm bored quickly when I'm with black people. I find that a little disturbing and unfair towards my fellow black men and women, what do you think? Thanks for your answers.

I think it has more to do with the personality and intelligence of the people you like than it does with the color of their skin. No, I am not saying that those of any particular color are stupid, I am not. I am saying that those you have met of your own race, have not been able to meet your requirements for what is acceptable to you for a friend is all. I am sure there are those out there that could do so, if you found them. There are many people, of many races, that I call friend, and a great many more people of many races that I would not. For me, as I suspect for you, it is a matter of personality and intelligence, not skin color.

Maybe you just don't have that much in common with the black people in your neighborhood. It's not really unfair, it's just your preference. Maybe you could join a black church or some other activity and you will meet other people, but there is nothing wrong with being friends with people of all races =)

Hey.don't feel that way.....I'm black and I feel the same way. Blacks in my view are very behind the curve. Blacks(in general) are very conservative and boring to me. I very rarely make black firends because of of the lack of exposure they have. I am not saying this to sound elitist, but being a 33 black male I am very rarely attracted to black woman any more. I find myself goingafter international woman or white woman.

And far as african american is concerned.i wish blacks would drop that title completelt and just use black or black american. WE are not africans at all.

you seem like a great person...i find it great that you are open minded...you have no problems...as long as you don't hate your African race...
