Since when is the VP above the law? Remember when he wouldn't let anybody hear about the meetings with Halliburton when they got the no-bid contract for supplies and rebuilding Iraq? What is he hiding now?

Brian: Check it out:

The Oversight Committee has learned that over the objections of the National Archives, Vice President Cheney exempted his office from the presidential order that establishes government-wide procedures for safeguarding classified national security information. The Vice President asserts that his office is not an “entity within the executive branch.”[..]

In his letter to the Vice President, Chairman Waxman writes: “I question both the legality and wisdom of your actions. … [I]t would appear particularly irresponsible to give an office with your history of security breaches an exemption from the safeguards that apply to all other executive branch officials.”

By the time they get all the legal ducks in a row to force him to open his files he will have shredded or removed any damaging documents.

DICK Cheney may be appropriately named but he's no fool.

He's criminal and it will all come out in the end.

Brian: I think the reference is to the unknown paticipants of the energy task force meetings he had, and is keeping secret, or the fact that he believes the visitors to the VP residence should be kept secret. The list goes on.

Given that his office has publicly been caught exposing classified information his claim of exemption from being audited is ridiculous.
He claims he is not part of the Executive branch because he can break a tie in the Senate!
If he gets away with this it will show how badly they have corrupted our federal government with crony appointments.

They better hurry, there's only one member of the White House that does any actual work and does what it is supposed to do, and that member is actually the White House Paper Shredder.

I was just reading this--one thing you can be sure of with Dick Cheney--he knows what he can get away with. I call him the "Lay Low Guy".

They will try but they can't force him to open something that he has already destroyed to cover up his criminal activity.

Remember, in the past he has claimed "executive priviledge" but now asserts he is not part of the executive branch..

This administration is getting kookier by the minute...
