I think it is so stupid. They should get rid of it. Why did they even make it in the first place. Who else thinks it is stupid and they should get rid of it. Or if you like it say why.

What's wrong with it. I am a fan of two teams, Braves and D-Rays. These two leagues have their own traditions. I think the DH brings a nice element to the game. It is also why AL pitching is more superior. Why does the NL usually always get beat by the AL in the All-Star game? NL hitters have said they are always amazed at the pitchers they face from the AL. The NL has great pitchers but the AL is on a different level. The NL is based on really an 8 hitter lineup. It's a lot easier to get through 8 and strategize to get to the pitcher hole than it is to go through 9 people who hit on a regular basis and don't have a tired arm from throwing heat. I think both leagues are unique and getting rid of DH would make MLB bland. Some pitchers who struggle making a crossover are usually NL pitchers to the AL. I find it that AL pitchers usually have more success making the move just because they have a 9-hitter mindset.

If you look at the history there are two leagues for a reason. Unlike all the other major sports who use conferences, this wasn't a true merger, just a partnership. The DH wasn't adopted until the 70s but it is an AL adoption. I love the uniqueness of MLB.

That is not what is stupid. What is stupid is having two different sets of rules for leagues in the same sport. I don't care if they take the DH to the NL or if the AL starts using the pitchers to hit. We just need a uniform decision for both leagues to make things a little more even. I think it would be best to use the DH for both leagues just because it makes more sense in this day in age.

It is definitely not stupid because having a pitcher in the lineup is like an automatic out and is just a rally killer with runners on base the NL needs to add a DH so they can keep up with the AL cause right now the AL wipes the floor with the NL

I think both leagues are fine just the way they are. If they get rid of the D.H. they might as well get rid of inter-league play because the only fun of watching inter-league play (in my opinion) is watching a pitcher who very rarely hits try to get in there and take his hacks. I say if it ain't broke don't fix it and there isn't really anything wrong with the D.H...I actually prefer the A.L. because of the D.H.. It's usually a boring at-bat when the pitcher is up. The MLB needs to fix some things with the game but I am sure the D.H. isn't even on their list.

The ironic thing is that the DH idea was presented by John Heydler, owner of the Pirates (I think that's his name), back in the 20's. In its original form, the rule would have the player (actually referred to as the designated pinch-hitter) available to pinch-hit for ANYONE in the lineup at any time, without that player coming out of the game.

That's okay. The DH thinks you're stupid right back.

McDonald's sells hamburgers AND cheeseburgers. It's been over 50 years and it still cannot settle the issue and make things simple for consumers. It's so unfair.

I like it. It gives the pitchers time to concentrate on their game and not have to worry about batting. Of course I am the fan of and AL team so I guess I might feel differently if I werent.

People love potent offense. Maybe the NFL should get rid of the west-coast-offense and the run and gun.

Some people (not me) think its a good idea because it tends to increase scoring, allows older players to add a few years to their careers, and permits starting pitchers to stay in the game longer. Me? I think it sucks.
