I think its normal and healthy to want to be with the opposite sex. I've heard that women don't need men and can make it on there own. Does this mean that women really don't desire men? I can honestly say that the majority of the male population desires women.

the majority of males desire women for sex. the majority of women desire men for emotional intimacy and commitment. while it is true that a woman can earn a living and doesn't need the financial support of a man, like women of generations in the past, our society still makes women feel like they are "worthless" if they are not married. lots of women start buying into this. ever been in a room full of 30 something single women? they are like on the verge of a breakdown cause they've accomplished so much but still haven't snagged a husband.

The majority of the female population desires men.
Sure, women can make it on their own, if they so choose...but most choose to be with a man, don't they?
Statistically, there are more gay men than there are lesbians.

I think women have been taught that they have to be everything - they have to be greatly educated, great workers, etc. But they also have to be domestic and maternal. And in perfect shape and all that jazz. All the talk of being this girl power woman makes it hard to admit that sometimes we just want to be taken care of by a guy! But yes I think ultimately most women want to have a man in their lives. I have a great career, a wonderful family and if I had to I could live without my husband - but I would not want to! I desire to have him as my partner.

It is just according who the man is and if he turns you on. I know a man that you just think about them and you get all tore up inside. You get hot and you want to be with them. Some men just turn different women on. One man I knew could just call on the phone and I'd get that want to all over my body. He just had a way of talking and makes you think about him and your breath gets short, you get this ache, you get nervous , you fill a lump in your throat, You get you hot and bothered and yes you desire them.
I've only had one man that made me feel that way , he was 15 years older than me and he was all man, I mean all man. I loved him so much but things happen, things just happen that is beyond your control. But you will always think of him and get the same way once again., you'll have that want to all over again.

no women need men like men need women. It's 50/50 the other needs the other to survive.

well some women can make it on their own without men. a lot of women can. but for the women that do need men to survive, we need them just as much as they need us.
men have mistreated women in the past, so those who have experienced that and not moved on yet, the bad experiences still linger on.
women need a lot of nurturing that many men ar incapable of providing. sad but true.
