I have a minor case of pectus carinatum. I really am unsure of going to public pools or beaches due to this. I'm afraid I might be made fun of. What should I do?

I have the same condition-- but it is only on one side of my chest. I am pretty flat chested, so the bone protrusion is rather noticeable.

If it really plagues you, surgery IS an option- but the recovery and pain is supposed to be really awful. (not to mention the cost).

For me, I like to tell people about it and see reactions! It gets peoples eyes bulging and saying COOL! or WOAH! I used to be very embarrassed, but now I show it off as my own little quirk!

=^.^=
