When I was pregnant, I had "Gestational Diabetes". So, I was on a Low-Carb High-Protein diet.. But, if you don't have any reason to be on a diet, other than Gestational Diabetes, or some other health treat to you or the baby, then I would say that dieting is a No-No.. If you are worried about gaining too much pregnancy weight, then just exercise, but always check with your Dr. first..
Good Luck.. :o)

Please consult your doctor on this question!
Hopefully he or she will say that you should not be dieting while pregnant.
If you decide to breast-feed, don't strictly diet then either...you can eat healthfully and nutritiously and the weight will come off.
I ate as nutritiously as possible during my pregnancy and throughout the year that I nursed my son. I lost all of the pregnancy weight.
Now I have a few more pounds to lose and I am low-carbing.... but it won't affect my son now (he's 16 months old and drinking real milk and eating table food).
Please let this time be your baby's.... focus on his/her health during your pregnancy and while you nurse (if you decide to). It won't be long before you will have your body back to do as you choose.
Good luck!

Dieting while you are pregnant is not good for the baby because he won't get that nutrition that he needs ,but it is good to eat healthy foods.

NO DIETS WHILE PREGNANT!!!!!!
Eat healthy, balanced meals and you will be fine, gain the reccomended weight, and lose it easily after birth.
