"We falsely think of our country as a democracy when it has evolved into a media-ocracy, where our media, which is supposed to check political abuse, is part of political abuse."
-Danny Schechter, former CNN and ABC news producer

"[The media] is not a healthy counterweight to government, they are as big as or bigger than the government, and they work closely with the government." -Mark Crispin Miller, Professor of Media Studies at New York University

"The most powerful special interests in washington today is the media, because not only do they give money and lobby, and do all the things that industries do in washington, but they control whether or not a politician's mug gets on the tube. Now that is power. That is the ultimate power in a political realm, controlling perceptions." -Charles Lewis, former "60 minutes" producer

Yes, big time!
as posted on another thread (Is Fox News Owned by Americans?) it is worth looking at FOX News owner's Rupert Murdoch's empire alone.

as in that thread: the article in the UK's Guardian newspaper article ( February 17, 2003) points out that :
"Rupert Murdoch argued strongly for a war with Iraq in an interview this week. Which might explain why his 175 editors around the world are backing it too"

which only illustrates the fact that the global media enables a global 'media-ocracy' for the NWO.

The answer is- we live in a corporate media-ocracy. The mainstream news is nothing more than the mouthpiece for the agendas of the corporations. The news is just scripted censored filler in between corporate commercials.

The media has a lot to answer for.

Thing of it is though there are many newspapers but there are even fewer press agencies like AP (associated press) and Knight Ridder and all the national and international news in syndicated from them. About the only part of your news paper and local news channel are the local stories.
