RESPECT YOURSELF and that;'s what matters

Once you know why others will follow the trail

Nobody will ever respect you unless YOU RESPECT YOURSELF.

I guess i was to the point!

I guess that depends on what you mean by "proving yourself". And it also depends on whose respect you're trying to gain. I agree with the above in that you should respect yourself, and respect all others as human beings (until they give you a good reason not to).

How can you get respect without proving yourself to others? I don't understand what you want?

Respect starts by respecting yourself. Others can tell if you are respectable by the way you act and respect them.
Respect them first and I bet you get their respect back.
You have to keep it up to keep it.

yes, i mean today its hard to trust anyone at their word, you've known your neighbor for 10 years, wave, smile, think to yourself "they are good people", then later that night you see that same neighbor on the 5 o'clock news, come to find out he's jack the frickin ripper!!!! but when you do what you say you'll do, be some where when you say you will, make promises and keep them. they dont have any choice but to show you respect.

Of course. How much depends on how much respect you want.

How many people do you respect just because you encounter them? A person who's sitting on a bus gets enough respect for you not to steal his hat or knock him to the floor to have his seat. You're not going to respect him enough to ask him how to invest your retirement portfolio or to date your mother.
